This fall, the Davidson College Library will join library peers across the nation to examine the complexities of how instructors access and use video content provided by libraries. Partnering with the non-profit research group Ithaka S&R, the Davidson College team will work cross-institutionally to understand pedagogical practices and teaching needs related to video content. In collaboration with the larger research cohort, the project team will examine cross-institutional licensing terms and work to develop new strategies for licensing and managing streaming use. In addition to using this information to guide negotiation strategies, the team anticipates that the project will help libraries make more informed decisions related to video streaming and better support faculty’s teaching and learning goals. We’re excited to be joining such a great group of colleagues working together to make positive change! Read more about the initiative and list of participating institutions here.
